Tyler Rountree (drummer) and Christian Springman (guitarist) first started writing some funky tunes together in early 2021 and by the time 2023 came around put together a band and started playing out and writing more original tunes while also reengineering popular hit songs and rearranging them into a modern funk sound.

The four guys (Tyler Rountree, Christian Springman, Brandon Ewens, and Micah Hogan) all have a wide range of musical tastes and influences from classic rock and metal to jazz, funk, and soul giving The Mother Smuckers a unique and compelling sound. The band is influenced by funk-pop artists like Cory Wong, Fearless Flyers, and Scary Pockets as well as fusion artists like Mark Lettieri, High Fade, and Plini.
